We are not able to reference Manufacturer model numbers to suggest which lock kit you need. Please review the three HON lock kits listed on this page. The dimensions of the knockout are listed for the F24/F28, and F26 style kits on each of the product details page - this should be an indicator of the needed lock kit. Please review the pdf installation instructions file on each of the detailed product pages to ensure you are ordering the correct kit. Hint: If you have other cabinets in the office, you might compare the lock installed in your existing cabinets with the parts we show in the individual lock kits.

Some lock kits are provided with instructions in the package. Most of the lock kit installation instructions are available as a downloadable (pdf) file from the detailed product information page.

There is no special lock kit adapter to accomplish this, and the hole size in the cabinet is larger for the push-in/plunger style kit.

When purchasing locks of the same type, we stock them KA, or Keyed Alike. This means the locks will work with the same key. If you order three locks Keyed Alike, all three locks will work off the same key, in addition, most locks are provided with 2 keys, so you would have 6 identical keys to work the three locks (in this example).

The number stamped into the face of the lock (by the keyhole) does not necessarily indicate the lock type, however we can supply some precut keys for certain lock codes, or manufacturers. Maybe... There are many different types of locks that fit file Cabinets. The lock type vary from standard vertical files, to lateral files, and custom files, and will vary by manufacturer. If you know who manufactured the file cabinet it might help in determining the lock type. File cabinet manufacturers typically do not make the locks, they are supplied by a company that specializes in manufacturing utility locks.

If your file cabinet has a oval metal knock-out plug - it does not ensure the cabinet has the internal locking rod hardware to work with a lock kit. We are not able to reference Manufacturer model numbers to suggest which lock model you need.
