Dupli-Key is designed to provide maximum security and control of keys. Multi-key needs are organized into a coordinated system. For every key issued, there is a file (permanent-pattern) key that is never loaned. This assures proper regulation (the heart of security) and helps to avoid key loss. File Keys are attached permanently to numbered red octagonal shaped key tags. Duplicate keys are attached to numbered white oval shaped snap-hook key tags. Both tags are hung on the corresponding, numbered key hook in the Dupli-Key key cabinet, or key drawer unit. When a key is loaned or issued, a receipt slip recording key recipient and date is inserted into a brass holder and hung with the permanent file key. A Key Loan Register and Three-way Cross Reference Index are a key to the Dupli-Key system. The Key Loan Register provides a detailed record of all keys loaned for accountability while the Cross Reference index logs vital key information by lock location, hook number and key change number.
